San Alberto coffee is the result of the hard work of a family of traditional coffee growers who have undertaken their most ambitious project; to offer a luxury coffee.

Nuestra historia

Como reconocimiento a nuestra incansable pasión, a nuestra rigurosidad en todos los procesos y a ese privilegio que nos ha brindado la naturaleza, se nos ha reconocido de forma irrestricta por los más selectos baristas de la escena mundial.

1972

Gustavo Leyva Monroy acquires the Hacienda La Alsacia and changes its name to Hacienda San Alberto to honor his son Gustavo Alberto, who passed in a fatal plane accident.

1976

Gustavo buys the house adjacent to the Hacienda and turned it into the main household of the Hacienda.

1985

Gustavo dies in an accident on the road from Hacienda San Alberto to Armenia. His wife Melba takes charge of the property.

1990

Looking to increase production, Hacienda San Alberto acquires the neighboring estate La Ponderosa, which includes the highest lands of the property, between 1,700 and 1,800 meters above sea level.

1995

Se extiende la propiedad anexando el lote más alto, La Ponderosa.

1996

Olga, the eldest daughter, together with her husband Eduardo adquiere total control of the property. They initiate a big transformation of the estate.

1997

The renovation of the main house and the production facilities takes place.

2005

This year the transformation of the Hacienda is accomplished, led by the vision of Eduardo Villota.

2006

Después de diez años de trabajo con una visión de negocio comprometido con el medio ambiente y un alto sentido de responsabilidad social, Hacienda San Alberto obtiene la certificación UTZ.

2007

La creación de la Kallpasapa Grupo (Café San Alberto) por los hijos de Olga y Eduardo.

2008

El resto de la finca El Paraiso figura en el anexo.

2009

Inauguración de la San Alberto Terraza (Buenavista, Quindío) y el laboratorio de calidad.

2010

La Hacienda recibe la certificación internacional de la agricultura sostenible, Rain Forest Alliance.

2010

La primera exportación de San Alberto y de Corea del Sur se consolida.

2011

Café San Alberto recibe la Medalla de Oro como producto del año en la Feria Mundial de la Alimentación en Moscú. El primero de muchos premios.

2012

San Alberto is the first Colombian coffee to receive the iTQi Crystal Taste Award after three consecutive years winning the maximum award. That same year receives the Monde Selection Gold Award in Bordeaux.

2014

San Alberto es el primer café de colombia para recibir el Premio Cristal por el ITQI después de 3 años consecutivos de la más alta distinción.

2015

La apertura de San Alberto en el centro histórico de Cartagena.

2017

Café San Alberto has been chosen as Colombia's most exotic coffee amidst the Land of Diversity quality competition.

2018

San Alberto abre su nueva tienda en la zona de Usaquén de Bogotá.

2019

San Alberto opens its third Coffee Temple in Bogotá, located in La Candelaria, in the emblematic Avianca building in downtown Bogotá..

2021

San Alberto abre su segundo Café Templo en Cartagena envuelto en la magia de la Plaza de Santo Domingo.
